Environmental Wellness

Environmental well-being requires the understanding of your impact on the world around you.  Examples of environmental pollution include air pollution, UV radiation, chemicals, noise, and second hand smoke.  Minimize your impact on the environment by being aware of the resources you use and the sustainability of their sources.

Activities include:

  • Recycling
  • Carpooling
  • Walking instead of driving short distances
  • Conserving electricity
    • Turn off lights when you leave the room
    • Turn off the tv if no one is watching
  • Turn off the water while brushing teeth
  • Limiting pesticide use
  • Using native plants in gardens (xeriscaping)
  • Not buying products with excessive packaging
  • Buying foods from the local farmers’ markets
  • Buying facial tissues, paper towels, napkins, and toilet paper that uses recycled materials
