MYTH: Your cardio machine is counting the calories you are burning
Caloric expenditure is dependent upon one’s age, fitness level, weight and gender. Women burn less calories than men while exercising. The heavier you are, the more calories you will burn. Also, the more fit you are, the more efficient your body becomes at burning fat, and ultimately, calories.
You may be able to adjust the settings and enter in some of the data needed to produce a more accurate number. However, the “calories burned” that is illustrated on you cardio machine is simply a rough estimate, so don’t consume your calories accordingly.
